Why we decided to create a charity arm of the business.

Action takes Action is a project that has long been on the heart of Director Jodie Williams.  We feel it is our job to not only educate students in the techniques of dance, but to provide a place for them where they can build a strong character, connect with their community and feel nurtured in a loving and safe environment. The success of this charity initiative is a testament to the strong support and community we have here at Action Dance Academy with many students referring to Action Dance Academy as ‘a second home’.

“My heart is that the strong and supportive community we have built up here at Action Dance Academy can extend an arm to those with a greater need and make a difference in the lives of people in our local community that perhaps don’t have the same opportunities and safe place to land.”
— Jodie Williams (Director)

  • in 2018 we partnered with the Hornsby Kur-ring-gai Women's Shelter to raise $1800 for women in our local community suffering from homelessness and domestic violence.

  • in 2017 we partnered with Mission Australia to raise $1400 who used the money to support families with affordable housing, early learning and youth services, family support and skills development for those in need.

Our Charity Partner for 2019

This year we have partnered with the Kids with Cancer Foundation who raise money to help struggling families of kids being treated for childhood cancer.
100% of money raised for the foundation assist doctors, nurses, families and support groups involved in caring for only the youngest of children suffering with a brain tumor, leukemia and all other childhood cancers, from new born babies to young teenagers. Money raised is allocated by a founding committee, benefiting, both public hospitals with children's oncology units and families who find themselves placed in financial difficulties, due to their child being treated for cancer.
